D. A. Productions was started in March of 1989 to manage and support the hit musical "Lord I'm Coming Home". It was the beginning of what was to be a long journey that would prove to be a trend setter for Washington D.C.'s urban theatre. At the inception of the company there were only a few musical plays  in existence  and touring. The "Wiz".  "Vinnette Carroll's Your Arms to short to Box with God" , George Faison's Sing Mahalia Sing" , "Don't get God Started" and not to be forgotten " MAMA I Wana  Sing" which was Off Broadways longest running musical. D.A. Productions was responsible for presenting  Gregory Wards hit musical "Lord I'm Coming Home" starring Lynette Hawkins Stephens in June 1989 at the Warner Theatre. This was a time when most people only looked at doing projects in the church or high school auditoriums but D.A. Productions stepped out side the box and went for broke. We hired the late Professor Mike Malone who had produced the Great White Hope on Broadway and had the skills and expertise to make This production a smashing musical at the Warner Theatre in Washington DC. D. A. Productions has had the privilege to have worked with many artists such as The musical genius of Raymond Reeder composer of the hit song recorded by Tony Terry "When I'm with you" as our musical director for the Warner Theatre opening of "Lord I'm Coming Home". Since our inception we have worked with such artists as Sherman Hemsley, Joe Legon of the Mighty Clouds of Joy, Cheyl "Pepsii" Riliey, Melvin Williams, The late Brenda Waters of Houston Texas, Lady Esther Ford of the Original Clara Ward Singers, the late Debbie Austin (who took it to another level), Bishop Charles Lyes of Atlantic City New Jersey and Rev Bruce Parham.
Through the years D.A. Productions has produced "Lord I'm Coming Home" in over 30 cities around the country including Richmond VA, Grand Rapids Michigan , Greensboro NC, Bennetsville S.C., Fayetteville NC, Columbia SC. Pensacola FL. Raleigh N.C. and Rockford Illinois  to name a few. This made our company the only organization to mount and tour a musical from Washington DC. To date this fete as not been done on a consistent basis from any company in Washington DC. Now with our youth intern program we are working hard to help not just the actors on stage but youths in need of job training in our community. We are grateful to have with us the lustrous Elizabeth Jackson Hodges who as been a strong supporter of our organization and the newest team member. With all these factors in place we look forward to a long and continued success reign in the entertainment business
